Child Care Business Development Program at Abbott Northwestern Hospital

The YWCA and Abbott Northwestern Hospital have partnered to provide child care business training to members of the local community. The program is being built in two phases.

Phase I is 4 language specific child care "bungalows." These house new Americans who are providing child care based in their home language and culture while receiving ‘on the job training’ on the laws of the State of Minnesota, licensing, child care subsidies, tax policies for home child care providers, and how to make child care a viable business.

We now have spaces available for infants through school-age children for care and education in a Somali language program and in a Spanish language program.

For rate information, see our Rates and Assistance page. We accept child care subsidy.

Phase II will add a multicultural child care program, taught in English. We expect this part of the program to begin operation in June 2006.
