Biking

Biking is one of the most exciting lifetime sports, is fantastic for aerobic fitness and provides an avenue to many great adventures such as triathlons, the Red Ribbon Ride and family rides around the lakes.

5 hour Rides with Lauren Fithian

We are pleased that Lauren Fithian is back again! She is here in support of all of the riders who are seeking to improve their skills and learn distance riding techniques. Join her and TEAM YES! in support of the Red Ribbon Ride.

All rides are held at Uptown location from 1:00-6:00 pm.

Ride Dates:

  • Sunday, January 31st
  • Sunday, February 28th
  • Sunday, March 28th

Registration

Cost for YWCA members is $30 per ride, or $75 for all three! (All non-members will be charged an additional 20% administration fee for services.) Registration opens Dec 16. Register in person at the Uptown location.

Join us for an Old Chicago® pizza party after the ride at no extra cost!

Cycle Classes

Each site at the YWCA has a cycling studio ready for action. Classes are from 50 minutes to two hours and allow you to ride easy at your own pace or challenge yourself to the extreme with "hills" and intervals. Check the Group Fitness schedule to find a class that meets your schedule.

YES! Red Ribbon Ride Team

The Red Ribbon Ride is a 4 day, 300 mile bike ride to raise awareness and support for HIV/AIDS organizations here in Minnesota. The YWCA of Minneapolis has a team that does the ride each year, often trains together and supports the each rider's fundraising efforts. Last year, the team raised over $20,000 in the fight against AIDS! Join the fun for a great cause.
