Swimming
The YWCA of Minneapolis has a long history of strength and leadership in aquatics including being the first racially integrated pool in the Twin Cities in 1945. Now the YWCA of Minneapolis is the Regional Center for Total Immersion swim training, the premier method of teaching efficient swim technique for thousands of masters swimmers and triathletes.

Total Immersion (TI) Swim Instruction
Though swimming is an essential life skill, traditional teaching and coaching methods have made it difficult to master because they teach an awkward, exhausting style of swimming. Total Immersion's foolproof approach to teaching can help any student master a fluent, beautiful and economical style and bring results far faster than conventional methods. In personal or small group sessions or weekend workshops, experienced coaches can teach you the habits and techniques of the most expert and efficient swimmers.
Masters Swimming
Although the name may be intimidating, Masters swimming simply means group swimming for those 19 and older. All speeds and skills are represented on the Masters team, and more experienced swimmers always enjoy helping new swimmers get a feel for the workout and the group. The YWCA Masters program is open and free to all YWCA health & fitness members. Non-members can sign up for practices under a punchcard system for $70 for 10 practices.
New: There are now Masters classes that are Triathlon-training focused! Look for them on the Masters Practice Schedule.
Adult Swim Instruction
The YWCA has some of the most experienced and qualified swimming and safety instructors in the Twin Cities. Instruction is focused to help you learn on your schedule and at your pace. Adult lessons are available in group classes, as well as in private or semi-private lessons.
