YWCA Meltdown 2! A Fitness Competition

Registration begins March 31, 2008; $30 per person, $90 for teams of three. To register, bring the completed registration form and payment to your local YWCA membership desk.

Competition Guidelines
The meltdown competition is in teams of three. You may sign up as a team or individually. The YWCA will place individuals on a team. Teams will compete against other teams registered at the same location.

YWCA staff and their households may participate but are not eligible for prizes. Members and YWCA staff may not compete on the same team.

Measurements and Weigh-Ins
At the time of registration and again at the end of the six weeks, you will meet with a YWCA Personal Trainer to record your initial and final weight and measurements (chest, waist, hips).

  • Measurements will be used from Meltdown 1 weigh-out. If you did not take part in Meltdown 1, contct the Fitness Coordinator at your site to schedule your intake assessment.
  • Final measurements will be taken during the last week of competition, April 28-30.
  • Final measurements must be taken by the same Personal Trainer as the first measurements

Points
Points can be accumulated daily and weekly. This year, participants will earn exercise, weight loss, circumference reduction and daily food logs.

  1. Exercise points.
    1. 1 pt per half-hour of exercise
    2. Max of 4 pts / day
    3. Max of 14 pts / week
    4. Max earnable exercise points = 84
  2. Weight Loss
    1. 1 pt per 1 pound of weight lost
    2. Max 2 lbs / week
    3. Max earnable weight loss points = 12
  3. Circumference Reduction (Chest + Waist + Hips)
    1. 1 pt / 1 inch reduction
    2. No Weekly or Event Max.
  4. Daily Food log.
    1. Sheets collected and calculated the Tuesday (12:00 PM) after each completed week.
    2. 1 pt for each daily log completed
    3. 7 pt / week
    4. Max earnable log points = 42
