YWCA Minneapolis has been celebrating Black History Month for approximately 20 years. The Black History Festival allows children to celebrate African American heroes and their historical contributions while reinforcing the YWCA Minneapolis Early Childhood Education anti-bias curriculum. Each classroom focuses on one hero and learns about that hero through a variety of activities including art, music and books throughout the month of February.
