Family PODS at YWCA Midtown

Following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and state guidelines, we are phasing swim and gym POD services back with limitations and new safety precautions in place.

Swim and gym PODs are available at YWCA Midtown by reservation only.

Household members can reserve a “pod space” within our pool area for open family swim. Here are some important facts to know:

  • Reservation for pod space is required. You can call YWCA Midtown at 612-215-4331 or reserve a spot in person.
  • Members can reserve up to 3 days in advance and up to 3 times per week.
  • Each POD can be used by one household; up to 12 swimmers per time block.
    • Ex: 3 PODS of 4 swimmers; 2 PODS of 6 swimmers, or any combo that does not exceed 4 households and 12 swimmers max for that time block.
  • Adult (parent/caregiver) must actively supervise children in the water. Those under 48 inches must be within arm’s reach at all times.
    • Youth age policies and swim testing apply.
    • Exception – a youth 15 or older can substitute for an Adult in the water for those under age, not 48 inches and/or not able to complete the swim testing. Parent/Caregiver must stay in the pool area while youth are in the water.
  • Masks must be worn at all times while out of the pool. This includes locker rooms. Mask applies for children 5 and older. Children between 2-5 years are highly encouraged to wear masks.
  • Proper social distancing of 9 feet must be maintained between PODS while in pool and on pool deck.
  • When possible, PODS should use one shower room bay for a quick rinse shower and changing. Regular locker room and showers are also available.
  • Lockers are not available in the all-gender locker room. Please bring belongings to the designated spot on the pool deck.
  • No cell phone or photo/video devices.
  • Slide and spray features are not available at this time.
  • All other pool rules still apply.
