YWCA Endurance Sports

YWCA Minneapolis offers numerous opportunities throughout the year to work on your endurance sports skills, sometimes as group training sessions, sometimes as workshops or clinics.

Biking Classes


Experience great workouts on your own bike without stoplights, construction, or traffic. This indoor training option is great all year long. Bring and attach your own bike to equipment that will automatically adjust power demands to take you to a new level of cycling fitness. Registration required.

Running Classes 

Running Intervals

Working on form, speed and pacing are the best ways to become a faster runner and to keep running interesting. Add these to your running regime by attending our free, drop-in classes and get the added benefit of camaraderie while running. All paces are welcome. No registration required.

Couch to 5K

This is a distance that is achievable for anyone! This class is for the true beginners or perhaps you are re-starting your training after an injury. We will utilize a walk/run ratio to progressively build your distance and time spent running. The class will also incorporate a proper warm-up, cool-down and a few agility drills and core exercise to enhance and support your run training.

On Track: Treadmill Training

Are you tired of running but not getting anywhere? We all fall into that same pattern of getting on the treadmill and doing the same workout time and time again – you start to plateau and stop seeing results or worse, you get an overuse injury! The treadmill will no longer be the “dreadmill” when you work out with this class!

Swimming Classes 

Aqua Endurance Cross Training

This endurance class is designed for runners, bikers and anyone else looking for a low impact workout. It is great for cross training, returning to motion after a lower extremity injury, or weight loss. Flotation belts will be worn to assist the aquatic running form.

Triathlon Training Classes 

Bike to Run: Off-season Workout

This is a high energy, cardio specific class with a mix of core work. The class will incorporate a warm-up, core exercises, quick bike to run transitions and a cool down. This will be a great way to keep you motivated in the winter months and excited for next year’s races!

Athletic Reset

Do you get injured right before your big race? Do you keep getting the advice to ‘stretch and strengthen’ but don’t know where to start?
