Women's Basketball Leagues

Women's Basketball League at YWCA Minneapolis

YWCA Minneapolis provides a safe, welcoming and competitive venue for participation in women's basketball.

Seasons and League Divisions

We have four seasons per calendar year: Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer.

There are five league divisions: A, B, C, Silver Fox (women 40+) and College (summer only). To find the league that's best for you, read the descriptions below or contact Tanysha Scott by calling 612-215-4354.

Women's A League 

This league is for the elite player. Most players who participate in this league have played competitively in college at the Division I, II, III or NJCAA level. Typically we have 8-10 teams per season participate.

Women's B League

This league is for the recreational player. Most players who participate in this league have played competitively in high school, and some players have played college basketball. Typically we have 20-25 teams per season participate.

Women's C League

This league is for the recreational player. Most players who participate in this league have played competitively in high school. We typically have 6-10 teams per season. 

Women's Silver Fox League

This league is specifically designed for the player 40 years of age or older. We welcome beginners. Many of our participants missed out on Title IX and never had the opportunity to participate in athletics. We also have participants who are experienced players. Typically we have 6-10 teams per season.

Many of our program participants have said that Silver Fox basketball has transformed their lives.

Women's College League - Summer Only

This league is specifically designed for actual college/university teams. Typically we have 25-30 teams participate.

Team Discount for Triathletes

If three of more players from your team register for the YWCA Women's Triathlon, we will take $50 off your Fall team registration! We'll also provide your team a 15% discount (promotional code to use for online registration only) on our endurance sports classes, like Swim Conditioning or Triathlon Race Skills.
