Safety Measures and Reopening

We are excited to announce that massage services will be offered at all of our fitness locations beginning September 21. Massage availability is limited; for that reason, we will extend previously purchased massage packages until December 31, 2020.

The services will be available in lengths of 30, 45 or 60 minutes. For the foreseeable future, massages over 60 minutes will not be provided. Please see the general managers or email us at for a solution if you have a prepaid package of 75 minutes or more; we will work with you to provide alternative solutions to honor different these packages.

What To Expect

  • Your safety and comfort is important to us. We are following the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB) guidelines for our massage rooms, cleaning protocols and massage sessions.
  • Every massage room will be thoroughly cleaned before and after each session using EPA-registered disinfectant and each room will have an air purifier with a HEPA filter. Both the member and the massage therapist are required to wear masks before, after and during the massage session.
  • Massage linens will always be changed between each client visit, ensuring clean blankets, table covers and pillowcases.

Massage Types

Swedish Massage

This classic and time-honored relaxation type of massage uses long strokes and firm pressure to relieve stress on outer layer muscles and joints.

Sports Massage

This form of massage is similar to Swedish massage, but targets specific muscles used to perform repetitive activity. Sports massage will particularly benefit athletes before or after an event, helping to prevent or treat injuries.

Deep Tissue/Trigger Point Massage

Deep tissue or trigger point massage works with layers of tissue in the body to relax, lengthen and release muscle restrictions that can form after injuries or overuse. Deep tissue work is effective in the alleviation of chronic pain, bringing about improved posture, increased flexibility and greater ease of movement. This deeper, more vigorous massage can address the whole body or give more attention to specific areas of need.

Prenatal and Perinatal Massage

Massage during pregnancy and labor has been shown to help decrease obstetric complications, lower prematurity rates, shorten labor and hospital stays, and decrease post-partum stress. After labor, it can help with pain management and address structural and physiological changes in the body.

YWCA Minneapolis has highly trained and experienced massage therapists who offer a variety of body work and massage styles. Our therapists provide massage and bodywork services in sessions lasting 30, 45 or 60 minutes, depending on your time and your budget.

30 minute: $45

Three sessions of 30 minutes each: $122
Three sessions of 60 minutes each: $216

All services are non-refundable and non-transferable.
All services expire 90 days from date of purchase.
All services require a 24-hour cancellation notice. Individuals who cancel within 24 hours of their allotted time will be charged the service rate.
