Safe and Welcoming Facilities

The health and safety of our members and staff have been our top priority throughout the pandemic, and we have consistently followed the CDC’s recommendations and governmental orders and guidelines to make the club experience safe and welcoming for all. From a carefully phased approach to reopening, to enhanced cleaning protocols and social distancing, YWCA Minneapolis is a community that takes care of one another!

As we continue our gradual and safe reopening, here is what you can expect:

  • We will no longer require fully vaccinated members and staff to wear face coverings in our facilities. Face coverings will continue to be strongly recommended for members and staff who are not fully vaccinated.
  • We will continue our enhanced cleaning protocols and procedures, including frequently cleaning and sanitizing all equipment and surfaces with disinfectant.
  • We will continue to provide self-cleaning stations with easy, readily available equipment disinfectant spray and hand sanitizer.
  • We will continue to use higher-level air filters with 40% fresh air exchange three times per hour.
  • We will continue to provide options for social distancing throughout the facility.
  • We will continue to ask for your help. If you are not feeling well, have a fever or other flu-like symptoms, we ask that you stay home.

Facility FAQs

To prioritize the health and safety of our members and staff, we have put new protocols in place including making changes to our hours, classes and services.

Are there any changes to facility hours?

Our facilities will have shorter operating hours. See updated hours.

What activities are you offering for families?

We are currently offering swim and gym PODS. Learn more about our POD Activities, policies and how to reserve a spot.

Are there any protocols around pool use?

  • Towel rentals are not available, so please bring your own towel.
  • Showering is required before entry into the pool. Please use the deck or locker room showers.
  • Kickboards, fins, pull buoys, noodles and water fitness equipment will not be provided. Please arrange to bring your own if needed.
  • Water fountains on deck are unavailable for member use, so water bottles should be filled before entry to the pool area.
  • Swimmers are expected to store swim equipment in designated areas and stop only at the assigned end.
  • To provide necessary spacing, swimmers will start in alternating shallow and deep ends of the pool, and use these ends as their primary resting areas.
