Brave the event, not the elements! Indoor Triathlons at YWCA Minneapolis are an excellent opportunity to stay focused during the cold Minnesota winters, engage with your community and make progress towards your personal fitness goals. Adults and youth (of all genders) age 14 and up are welcome to join, even those without past triathlon or racing experience.
If this is your first triathlon, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the positive and supportive atmosphere. Similar to the YWCA Women’s Triathlon, our indoor events can help novices gain competence and confidence — while acting as a great addition to the training regimen of seasoned athletes. In either case, expect to enjoy a day of excitement, encouragement and connection with your fellow racers.
2019 Race Dates
Register at the door to win fabulous door prizes like race belts, water bottles, visors and training gear!
Attend the expo or register to race – or both!
Collectible and stylish drinking glasses to remind you of your hard work all year round!
Every registered participant will receive one drinking glass at each race. Each glass comes with its own unique design to represent the swim, bike, run and YWCA. We encourage racers to collect as many of these memorable glasses as they can throughout the year!
If you’d like to get involved with our Indoor Triathlon without competing, then join us as a community volunteer! Sign up to help register racers, monitor competitions, pass out snacks and much more. People of all ages and levels of ability are welcome to volunteer.
YWCA Midtown’s pool is a six-lane, 25-yard pool. Two triathletes will share a lane. Each lane will have a lap recorder/timer. Average water temperature is 80-82 degrees Fahrenheit.
Our new bikes will be more accurate to actual road miles during bike courses this year!
You can adjust the bike for a comfortable fit. One side of the pedal is a standard platform with toe cages. The other side of the pedal is compatible with SPD-style bike cleat.
Run or walk on the track in the Minneapolis Sports Center — a regulation 200-meter indoor track.
Family and friends can watch you in each part of the race. Signs and cheering are encouraged. We’ll also provide poster-making materials and bells to help each spectator show their support!
