Don’t let the word “masters” fool you. This group is focused on all levels of swimming with over half of its participants categorizing themselves as “fitness swimmers.”
YWCA Masters Swim Team is a fitness swimming group for adults age 18 and older. Join us to train, stay in shape, try something new and meet new friends. No competitive swimming experience required.
Masters Swim Team dues are charged monthly via debit/credit card through our team website at www.ywcamplsmasters.org. Swimmers should click on the “registration” button and create an account, then add themselves as a member to register for our practice groups.
Participants are still required to register with United States Masters Swimming (USMS). When registering with USMS, choose Minnesota as your Local Masters Swimming Committee (LMSC), Minnesota Masters Swim Club (MINN) as your club and Minneapolis YWCA Masters (MYWM) as your workout group. For more information regarding Minnesota Masters Swimming or USMS, contact our coaching staff at 612-215-4224 or at mastersswim@ywcampls.org.
Unlike other teams in the state, enrollment in our Masters swim team includes practices at three different sites, YWCA Downtown, Midtown and Uptown.
Practices are offered morning, midday and evening throughout the week and weekend.
We have an award-winning coaching team with top level technical expertise and experience.
Coaches will meet swimmers on site before practice for a brief health screening and temperature check.
Social distancing is recommended and highly encouraged.
Practices are limited to a maximum of 4 swimmers per lane, 2 at each end of the pool (one at the wall, one at the flags).
