Don’t let the word “masters” fool you. This group is focused on all levels of swimming with over half of its participants categorizing themselves as “fitness swimmers”.
YWCA Masters Swim Team is a fitness swimming group for adults age 18 and older. Join us to train, stay in shape, try something new and meet new friends. No competitive swimming experience required.
Masters Swim Team dues are paid monthly via debit/credit card. Visit the Member Services Desk at any YWCA fitness location to enroll. Participants will also need to register with United States Masters Swimming (USMS). Choose Minnesota as your Local Masters Swimming Committee (LMSC), then choose Minneapolis YWCA Masters as your club. For more information regarding USMS or Minnesota Masters Swimming, contact our coaching staff at 612-215-4228.
Unlike other teams in the state, enrollment in our masters swim team includes practices at three different sites, YWCA Downtown, Midtown and Uptown.
We also have outdoor practices from June 9 until late August at the Richfield Municipal Pool.
Practices are held in morning, midday and evening throughout the week and weekend.
Signing up gives you access to over 15 hours of weekly practice options!
We have an award-winning coaching team with top level technical expertise and experience.
Program participants gain access to open and closed-session swims on Cedar Lake with our program.
Nonmembers will be allowed to enter the facility 15 minutes prior to the start of practice and must exit the facility within 30 minutes of practice ending.
Practices are limited to six swimmers per lane, established by speed at the start of practice.
Participants can attend any practice they choose.
Upon registration, swimmers must sign up for a practice group of two practices between Monday and Thursday. Here are our current options. Note: capacity is limited to ensure social distancing and safety for all participants.
Practice times are subject to change. Please check the current site pool schedule for updated information.
