YWCA Fit Forward Scholarship Fund

Help your neighbors take charge of their health! Round up your monthly membership debit with a tax-deductible donation. Your gift goes directly to our scholarship fund, Fit Forward, which helps make fitness memberships more accessible for community members from lower-income households.

As many as 21.2 percent of Minnesotans get no exercise, which could be caused by the lack of safe, conducive spaces to work out and the inability to afford gym memberships. Your generosity can be the critical link that helps a family get active!

Talk to your member advisor today to add a donation to your monthly debit or make a one-time or monthly donation online.

YWCA Learn and Grow Scholarship Fund

YWCA Minneapolis Learn and Grow Scholarship Fund is the essential link that connects a child without access to early learning opportunities to YWCA Minneapolis Early Childhood Education.

To continue supporting our families and offering consistent access to our Early Childhood Education program, YWCA Minneapolis will persist in our efforts to provide scholarships to preschoolers and their families.

By making a gift today, you are investing in our future leaders and making it possible for children to have the opportunity to thrive.

Bridging the Opportunity Gap for Girls and Youth

Our afterschool programs equip girls and youth to be learners, leaders and creators of change so they graduate from high school ready for college and careers. Our culturally responsive, research-based curriculum supports youth voices, helps them make healthy, meaningful choices, and provides them with successful role models who reflect their own identities.

We inspire and challenge 1,200+ young people each year to:

  • Achieve academic success
  • Develop essential leadership skills
  • Create healthy exercise and eating habits

Your gift to girls and youth programs helps bridge opportunity gaps and inspire a new generation of engaged citizens, critical thinkers and changemakers.

Stacey Danner Memorial Fund

Stacey James Danner died at the age of 46 from COVID-19 on Sunday, July 11, 2021. Stacey had a love for water, swimming and championing equity. His loved ones asked YWCA Minneapolis to set up a memorial fund that will support our Swim for Change program, which helps teach the life-saving skills of swimming and water safety to youth of color.

Swim for Change provides access to swim lessons, lifeguard training and swim team participation to 300+ youth involved in our programs each year. Greater than 80% of these youth live in low-income households and nearly 90% are youth of color. At three YWCA pools across Minneapolis, these young people participate in high-quality, engaging swim programming at no extra cost. You can support this important work by making a gift in any amount to help children and youth of color learn important, life-saving skills.
