Your baby’s first year is full of important milestones, and finding the right child care is one of them. At YWCA Minneapolis, we provide a warm, nurturing environment where infants aged six weeks to 16 months can safely explore, grow and thrive.
Our highly trained teachers offer individualized care that follows each child’s natural rhythms for eating, sleeping and play.
What Makes Our Infant Program Special

Whether your baby is learning to roll over or take their first steps, we meet them where they are with love, patience and expert guidance.
Individualized Attention and Development

A Safe and Stimulating Environment
From cozy nap times to active exploration, our classrooms are designed to encourage curiosity. Infants engage with safe, developmentally appropriate toys, books and activities, while also interacting with peers and trusted adults.
Supporting Early Language Development
Our caregivers talk, sing and read with infants every day—narrating what’s happening and encouraging early sounds. These meaningful interactions lay the foundation for strong communication skills and early literacy.
Prioritizing Safety with Infant Sleep Procedures
We follow all safe sleep guidelines to ensure your baby rests securely, including:
Placing babies on their backs to sleep
Using individual cribs with firm mattresses
Regular five-minute visual checks
No loose items in cribs (sleep sacks only)
All staff are trained in infant CPR, SIDS and shaken baby prevention
