Dr. Janine Sanders Jones
Associate Dean for Faculty Excellence, University of St. Thomas
Dr. Janine Sanders Jones serves as associate dean for faculty teaching, scholarship, and service excellence in the Opus College of Business at the University of St. Thomas. She leads faculty development, accreditation and strategic initiatives and previously served as associate dean of academics at Dougherty Family College.
An accomplished researcher, Dr. Sanders Jones studies quality and process management, with a current focus on how identity shapes service expectations. Her work has been published in leading academic journals, including Decision Sciences, Journal of World Business and Journal of Marketing Management.
She has also partnered with local organizations to examine how the Twin Cities can attract and retain professionals of color. Her research has been featured by Minnesota Public Radio, the Star Tribune and the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal.
Before entering academia, she worked as an industrial engineer at Merck & Co. She holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Ohio University, a master's degree in industrial administration from Purdue University and a doctorate in business administration from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management.
