We will be focused on reopening the fitness floors (cardio, free weights and strength training machines). You can make a reservation to work out here. Our seven-lane lap pool will give you all the space you need for a good workout, and comes equipped with a UV system that reduces chlorine irritants. When you’re finished with your laps or other water exercises, take a dip in the whirlpool on the pool deck — or enjoy a few minutes in the nearby sauna. We also provide swimming classes and lessons for all ages, from infant to adult.
Don’t risk slipping on unseen ice while running outdoors during the colder months — instead, take your walk or run inside to our convenient indoor track! Whether you’re training for a marathon or just looking to get your steps in for the week, you can accomplish your fitness goals from the comfort of our temperature-controlled space.
Getting healthy doesn’t have to be a chore. It can (and should!) be empowering to see your strength, speed or stamina improve as you progress. For some additional motivation or a change of pace, add one of our group training and fitness classes into your exercise schedule. We offer a range of free and pay drop-in classes, covering everything from yoga to strength training. Whether you’re looking for an intense workout or some gentle stretching and meditation, take your pick and get moving!
Along with access to our facilities, a family membership with YWCA includes free child care while you work out at one of our fitness centers! You can make a reservation for the Kids Zone at our Uptown location, where your child will be supervised by our CPR and First Aid-certified staff. Child care is open to kids aged 6 weeks to 11 years and reservations are highly recommended; call 612-215-4218.
Our experienced massage therapists are happy to provide a range of body work and massage styles, such as Swedish massage, sports massage and deep tissue or trigger point massage. You can purchase a massage session at any of our locations or use our online appointment scheduling system to schedule a massage from anywhere!

Younger swimmers are welcome to try out for our Otters Youth Swim Team, which is focused on building confidence and strength both in and out of the pool. Participating swimmers are placed in training groups based on their ages and abilities — and receive personal guidance from experienced swim coaches.
Through practice, games and other exercises, Otters learn about respect and teamwork while improving their technique and endurance. Otters outside of the novice group also compete in swim meets — so you’ll be able to join in the fun and cheer them on!
