YWCA Minneapolis Women’s Triathlon Celebrates Strength, Community and Inclusion
Nearly 1,500 Athletes Expected at Lake Nokomis on Sunday, Aug. 9
MINNEAPOLIS, July 31, 2026 – YWCA Minneapolis Women's Triathlon returns to Lake Nokomis on Sunday, Aug. 9, bringing together nearly 1,500 athletes ages 11 to 84. The event raises funds to support YWCA Minneapolis community programs.

Open to women, girls and non-binary individuals who identify with womanhood
WHAT: YWCA Minneapolis Women's Triathlon, the largest women-only triathlon in the contiguous United States.
WHERE: Lake Nokomis Main Beach, Minneapolis
WHEN: Sunday, Aug. 9, 2026
8 a.m.: Pre-race ceremony
8:10 a.m.: First racers begin
Approximately 9:30 a.m.: All racers out of water, first finishers expected

A hallmark of the event is the tradition of participants, volunteers and spectators gathering at the finish line to cheer on the final athletes, creating a powerful celebration of perseverance and community.
Proceeds support YWCA Minneapolis programs focused on early childhood education, youth development, wellness and racial justice. Through these initiatives, YWCA Minneapolis serves more than 15,000 people each year.
