Youth in Action Registration

Youth in Action: Build Leadership Skills and Create Change in Your Community

Youth in Action is a leadership and civic engagement program that helps high school students develop the confidence, knowledge, and skills to make a difference in their communities.

Participants will explore issues they care about, learn how change happens, and work alongside peers to address challenges facing their neighborhoods. Through hands-on activities, discussions, and community projects, youth will gain practical leadership experience while building lasting connections with other young leaders.

Registration is now open for the 2026-27 cohort.

Participants receive:

  • Dinner at every session

  • A free one-year YWCA Minneapolis youth fitness membership

  • Opportunities to build leadership and advocacy skills

  • Potential stipend eligibility with consistent attendance

There are 15 spots available.

Priority will be given to youth who:

  • Live, work, attend school, or regularly spend time in the Corcoran neighborhood

  • Can commit to attending sessions throughout the program year

  • Identify as BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, low-income, and/or people with disabilities

All high school students are welcome to apply.
